Visit to Edo State - March 30, 2017

The Ambassador of France to Nigeria, Mr. Denys Gauer, was in Benin City, Edo State, on March 30, 2017.

He had the opportunity to meet the new Governor, H.E. Godwin Obaseki, who took office in November 2016. The discussions focused on the new administration priorities and, more globally, on bilateral relations between France and Nigeria.

The Ambassador paid a courtesy call on H.R.H. Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, crowned in October 2016.

Denys Gauer also met members of the NGO "Girls Power Initiative" (GPI), active in the defence of children’s and young girls’ rights. The Embassy supported one of its programmes in 2015.
