Workshop on Nigerian animation cinema
The Institut français du Nigeria and the Goethe-Institut organised a workshop on Nigerian animation cinema, on January 11th, 2018. The event took place at the Institut.
17 representatives of 12 animation studios from Abuja, Jos, and Kano shared their experiences within the animation industry while also highlighting some of the problems they face and possible solutions in order to overcome them. The same workshop was also organised earlier in Lagos and was attended by 19 participants.
These workshops were part of a wider project sponsored by the Institut français du Nigeria and the Goethe-Institut to document a “White Paper” on the Nigerian animation film industry. This publication will capture the history, the present state of the sector and will make recommendations for its immediate future emerging from the solutions discussed with stakeholders.
