Visits to the CoCreation Hub and to Femi Akinsanya’s gallery - Lagos, February 9, 2017
The Ambassador of France to Nigeria, Mr. Denys Gauer, was in Lagos on February 9, 2017. On this occasion, he visited the CoCreation Hub, an incubator for start-ups specialized in new information and communication technologies. He also visited Femi Akinsanya’s magnificent art gallery.
The Ambassador, together with the Consul general of France, met Bosun Tijani, founder and CEO of the CC Hub, and visited the three floors building located in Yaba.
This structure meets a great success in Lagos and is now credited with international fame.
More than 2 000 candidacies have been received by the CC Hub since its creation. About 40 projects have been selected on economic and social criteria (e.g. an application for fast links between the blood bank and hospitals, or a platform for young and future mothers which allows them to receive advices from specialists on health, dietetic, education..).
There are already ongoing projects between CC Hub and the French Embassy (creation of animated movies to increase awareness on environmental issues), others will be launched in the next few months (workshops on digital technology and animation).
During the afternoon, the Ambassador was the guest of Femi Akinsanya, one of Nigeria great collectors. Mr. Denys Gauer had the opportunity to visit his private gallery and admire the numerous pieces of traditional Nigerian art (from different ethnic groups) as well as contemporary art pieces collected by Mr. Akinsanya for more than 30 years.
This very rich meeting was a great opportunity to further embrace the greatness, complexity and delicateness of Nigerian art.
The Ambassador and the Consul general received a copy of the art book Make history, dedicated to Femi Akinsanya’s exceptional collection.
