Signing ceremony of an educational partnership agreement between the Embassy of France, CampusFrance and the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF)
The Cooperation Services of the Embassy signed on Thursday, June 30th an educational partnership agreement with the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) and CampusFrance. This Nigerian parastatal Agency has the mandate for granting and monitoring higher education scholarships, at Master and PhD level, in order to develop the capacity of the gas and oil industry of the country.
The agreement involves co-financing from the Embassy for 13 scholarships, 10 at Master level and 3 for young PhD students. The specialty fields of these are geophysics, industrial chemistry and electronic engineering. Master students will continue their studies at the Institut français du Pétrole, Mines Nantes and at the University of Lyon.
CampusFrance agency will manage the allocations and grants, host and monitor students on behalf of PTDF.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Ahmed Galadima Aminu, Executive Secretary, in the presence of Mrs Rabiah Umar Adamu Waziri- Head of "Education and Training" and Mr. Tanimu Ahmed, Head of PTDF Legal Department.
France welcomes some 400 Nigerian students. Given the quality of the candidates for these awards, we hope to welcome more in the near future.
This new Higher Education cooperation agreement further demonstrates the quality of relations between our two countries.
