Port call of a French Vessel in Lagos, 9-11 February 2017

The Offshore Patrol Vessel « Commandant l’Herminier » made an operational call at Lagos on February 9 to 11, 2017.

The last port call of a French Navy ship in Nigeria dates back to 2012.

This visit was part of the 135th Corymbe mission (Permanent operational mission of the French Navy in West Africa) and was set to reinforce our links with the Nigerian Navy, a key actor of maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea.

This visit offered an opportunity for joint trainings on land and at sea to increase the interoperability of the two Navies.
