Niger Delta – Meeting with the Vice President
The Ambassador of France, Mr. Denys Gauer, together with six other western diplomats (NL, UK, DE, IT, EU, US) met Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on March 17, 2017, for an overview of the situation in the Niger Delta region.
President Muhammadu Buhari has recently directed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to head the special presidential delegation charged with the task of working on a lasting peace in the region.
The Vice President has visited a number of Niger Delta States since January (Akwa Ibom, Edo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Imo, Abia).

For Nigéria : Niger Delta Affairs Minister, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani, Environment Minister of State, Alhaji Ibrahim Jubril, Presidential Adviser on Amnesty Programme, Major-General Paul Boroh.
The western delegation: UK High Commissioner, Paul Arkwright, Dutch Ambassador, John C.M. Groffen, French Ambassador, Denis Gauer, EU Delegation Deputy Head of mission, Richard Young, Italian Ambassador, Fulvio Rustico, and German Ambassador, Bernhard Schlagheck. The US Deputy Head of mission, David Young, was also present.
