Launching of the France Alumni Nigerian Platform
On November 23rd 2016, in Lagos, Campus France and the Embassy of France in Nigeria in partnership with the Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry were pleased to launch the France Alumni Nigeria platform.
This program aims to create bridges between alumni, companies and Higher Education institutions in order to highlight the French experience of Nigerian students.
The Consul General of France in Lagos, Laurent Polonceaux, insisted on the importance of the platform and invited "entrepreneurs, students, young professionals and executives to share their network, to upload profiles and job descriptions, professional offers and demands”.
Mr. Mohammed Garba, member of the House of Representatives, knight in the French order of the palmes académiques and President of the Franco-Nigerian Parliamentary Friendship Commission, insisted on the importance to “draw full benefit of the links developed by the two countries in favour of the students”, mentioning the example of the scholarship programme developed by the Embassy of France in Nigeria, Campus France and the State of Kano.
The floor was then given to two alumni who talked about their experience in France and their projects.
A cocktail gave the opportunity for further discussions before a fashion show presented by several alumni.
This event gathered more than 200 guests representing alumni as well as the economic and institutional sectors.
The main French companies were present such as, but not limited to, Total, Bouygues Construction or AirFrance, as well as several Nigerian companies, with the aim of identifying new talents.
