Itinéraire Culture 2019: Papa Omotayo 2/2
Papa Omotayo, architect, creative director of MOE+Art Architecture and founder of A Whitespace Creative Agency, spoke to us about his experience during the Itinéraire Culture program in France organised by the French Ministry of Culture between the 11th and 21st of June 2019.

I wanted to learn and explore opportunities with French cultural organisations, especially those working in art and public space, in the hope of finding for collaborators.
The hope was there would be some shared knowledge and access to some of the know how, knowledge and structure of the amazing networks France has within arts and culture.
The program far exceeded my expectations. The various participants who also took part in the program really maximized the experience, which made the program feel truly global. The access to French cultural institutions, the directors and organisation, the entire team in France who looked after us, were all exceptional. It was a truly remarkable opportunity and experience.
We are currently discussing with one of the participants in India and one of the French organisations we met about projects to develop. We hope to connect more with some of the other organisations we met with in Paris. I hope to keep the contact of Nicolas at the Ministry in Paris who was fantastic and continues to be a valuable point of contact.
We would like to do a series of cross cultural projects, working with creatives and artists in France and Nigeria on an exchange, hopefully to tie into our yearly Tiwan Tiwa Street Art Festival. We are also developing an existing canal into a cultural space here in Lagos and hope to work with one or two of the French organisations we met.
The depth of commitment to the arts and culture was inspirational.
Extremely grateful. Thank you all.
