French Cinema Days in Lagos
The French Institute in Nigeria and the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF), one of the largest festivals in English-speaking Africa, agreed on a partnership for the 7th edition of the festival.
This collaboration was an opportunity to screen five French movies (Wulu, Valerian, Borders, Step by Step and He even has your eyes) on November 2nd and 3rd, 2017.
The festival also inaugurated several categories dedicated to french speaking movies, with the screening of many West and Central African productions.
A delegation of high-level French professionals also came to Lagos for the Ferstival. The delegation included David Kessler, Managing Director of Studio Orange and Orange Content, Julien Ezanno, Head of Bilateral Affairs at the National Center of Cinematography and the moving image, and Alain Modot, Managing Director of DIFFA, a production ad distribution company for African content.
The French delegation participated in two panel discussions (Cinema and Diplomacy / Production and distribution issues for African content) alongside their Nigerian counterparts. Julien Ezanno also hosted a conference on funding opportunities for Nollywood in France.
