Food aid in the North-East: France supports humanitarian actors

On Thursday the 26th of April 2018, Guillaume Audren de Kerdrel, First Counsellor of the French Embassy in Abuja received the representatives of two NGOs: Alima and Première Urgence Internationale (PUI).

On this occasion, two projects of the French Inter-ministerial Committee for Food Aid were signed for a total amount of 500 000 euros.

They aim to improve medical care for children suffering from malnutrition in the Kukawa Local Government Area in Borno state (Alima) and to ensure food security for vulnerable populations in Maiduguri (PUI).

These funding contracts attest to the commitment of the French Government to supporting the rehabilitation of North-Eastern Nigeria which has suffered many attacks by the terrorist group, Boko Haram.
