For the second edition of “For you to read!” in Nigeria, the French Institute of Nigeria (Institut Français du Nigeria), the Association of Nigerian Authors-Abuja (ANA), the Cassava Republic Press (CRP) and the Reading And Writing organization (RAW) work hand in hand to propose a rich program of activities during three days. Children shall be specially honored as a whole day has been set apart for them on the 26th and 27th May for the Children’s day celebration.

Program

Thursday 26 May / Venue: French Institute of Nigeria (Institut Français du Nigeria) / 57 Libreville Street / Off Aminu Kano Crescent / Wuse 2 / (Next to Mr Bigg’s).

12 AM Welcoming of the primary schools children and other presentations. Drama and poetry workshops. Snacks.

3 PM Cinebook. “Kirikou and the sorceress”. Animation film by Michel Ocelot. 74mn.

7 PM Manuscript Night. Readings of extracts of their last writings by authors, professional and amateur. Exchanges between the publishers and the public.

Friday 27 May / Venue: French Institute of Nigeria (Institut Français du Nigeria) / 57 Libreville Street / Off Aminu Kano Crescent / Wuse 2 / (Next to Mr Bigg’s).

Saturday 28th May / Venue: French Institute of Nigeria (Institut Français du Nigeria) / 57 Libreville Street / Off Aminu Kano Crescent / Wuse 2 / (Next to Mr Bigg’s).

10 AM Book Fair. Books exhibition by bookshops of Abuja & Signatures sessions.

11 AMto 1 PM Book Quiz. Three-round contest on literature, review and history of literature by the Association of Nigerian Authors.

11 AM to 2 PM Literary Workshop. “How to write romances?” Exchange between authors, publishers and public.

11 AM to 4 PM Story telling corner. Tales and children-story-reading in the library by Teresa AMEH from Reading and Writing organization (RAW).

7 PM Literary Picnic. Theme: “The book that changed my life”. Come along with family, friends or alone. Come along with your sandwich, food basket, or empty stomach. But more importantly, come with the book that changed your life. Share you love (or hatred) for it, read extracts and encourage others to read it!
