With the support of the Institut français du Nigéria, the director of the Regional Fund for Contemporary Art (FRAC), Abdelkader Damani, went to Lagos to present to an assembly of architects, designers and urban-planners, the Biennale of architecture that he runs in October 2017 in Orleans. One of its main themes is indeed dedicated to the work of Demas Nwoko, the great Nigerian architect.
During his conference, which took place at the Center for Contemporary Art (CCA) in Yaba, one of the most dynamic and innovating neighborhood of the city, Abdelkader Damani introduced to the audience the vast architectural collection of his institution, and presented the main themes of the future Biennale.
A high quality debate with the specialized audience followed.
During the Biennale, a workshop on the work of Demas Nwoko should be organized. It will be composed of experts and architects (notably Nigerians) willing to contribute to a major exhibition dedicated to this great name of international architecture.
