Commemoration of 11th November
11th November is the anniversary of the armistice of the Great War. Since 2012 it is also an opportunity for the nation to pay tribute to all those who died for it in foreign operations.
This celebration brings together in remembrance of those who died for their country, some Nations which were enemies during the 1914 - 1918 conflict. The centenary of this war will be celebrated next year.

Besides the Embassy staff, the ceremony that was held at the Embassy of France brought together for this tribute, members of the French community and defense attachés of friendly countries embassies, as well as children, students of the French School Marcel Pagnol, who attended the Ambassador at the laying of a wreath of flowers at the foot of a commemorative plaque, and then interpreted the Marseillaise.
The gathering was an opportunity for Ambassador Jacques Champagne Labriolle to revive the memory of the dead of the Great War, and to honor the sacrifices made by members of the French army in more recent -or in course- external operations.

Members of the French community and embassies delegations could also attend the promotion to the rank of officer in the Order of the Legion of Honor of Colonel Charles, member of the French armed forces, Adviser to the ECOWAS.
