Visual arts events in partnership with the Intense Art Magazine – Lagos, November 4-6 2017
As part of its strategy in the visual arts sector, the French Institute of Nigeria was a collaborator in a series of events organised on the occasion of the second edition of ART X, Lagos Contemporary Art Fair.
First, the French Institute supported the launch of IAM magazine (Intense Art Magazine), dedicated to the Nigerian art scene. The launch was held at the ALARA Concept store and 200 people, including artists and art professionals, came to celebrate this third edition of IAM, after those held in Senegal and Cameroon.
French Institute then helped to organise a panel discussion at the CCA (Centre for Contemporary Art) about the role of art publications and digital platforms in the construction of critical content. The panel discussion was moderated by Céline Séror, co-founder of IAM, and the guest speakers were Bisi Silva, Oliver Enwonwu, Bukola Oyebode and Jumoke Sanwo. The event was attended by 40 people including artists and art professionals.
